Usage Guidelines
For UW researchers who need cloud storage for their data, there are a few options with different costs and restrictions. Options with no additional cost beyond having a UW ID include:
- Microsoft OneDrive: Everyone with a UW ID has an Office 365 account that includes Microsoft OneDrive with maximum storage of 5 TB and file size limit of 10 GB.
If your cloud storage needs exceed the restrictions of these free options, then Google Workspace for Education Plus may be an option. For details about Google Workspace, see Google Workspace for Education Plus and Google Workspace Learning Center.
- Google Workspace for Education Plus: If Google Drive is accessed using a Google Workspace account, the maximum storage for UW is no longer unlimited. The IT department and ARCC will determine the limit for each user/group based on need.
