GSuite for Education access request

Usage Guidelines

For UW researchers who need cloud storage for their data, there are a few options with different costs and restrictions. Options with no additional cost beyond having a UW ID include:

  • Microsoft OneDrive: Everyone with a UW ID has an Office 365 account that includes Microsoft OneDrive with maximum storage of 1 TB and file size limit of 10 GB.
  • Google Drive: The free version of Google Drive has maximum storage of 15 GB.

If your cloud storage needs exceed the restrictions of these free options, then G Suite for Education may be an option. For details about G Suite, see G Suite for Higher Ed and Google Drive with G Suite.

  • G Suite for Education: If Google Drive is accessed using a G Suite account, the maximum storage for UW is no longer unlimited and the IT department and ARCC are working on setting what the limit for each user/group will be. Additionally, the file size limit is 5 TB.

To request that your UW ID be given access to G Suite for Education, please request access.
