Setup Outlook 2013/2016 – MS Office 365

NOTE: Functional knowledge and use of this application is the responsibility of the user.

Introduction

The University of Wyoming provides the MS Office 2013 software package free of charge to staff, faculty and students. UW imaged computers should already have the software suite installed, earlier versions of office (Office 2010) should be upgraded to the most recent. If you are running an earlier version of  Office and need help setting that account up, please contact the Help Desk at 1-307-766-4357 opt. 1. This brief tutorial will walk you through the initial configuration process of the Outlook 2013.

Procedure

You must be logged in with the users account you wish to set up Outlook for.

  1. Go to Start  and in the search type Outlook then press enter.

  2. Click Next > at the Welcome to Outlook 2013/2016 window.

  3. At the Add an Email Account window select Yes under Do you want to set up Outlook to connect to an email account. Click Next >.

  4. The Add Account window will open and auto fill in your account information. Click Next >.

  5. At this window select Don’t ask me about this website again and click Allow.

  6. Outlook will ask you for your password, enter it and select Remember my credentials. Click OK.

  7. When Outlook is done connecting you to your UW mail you will be able to click Finish.

Your Outlook will now be configured for your UW mail. It may take several minutes to load your mail profile. Even after it opens, depending on how much mail you have, it may take some time to load all of it. Please contact the UW IT Helpdesk at 766-HELP (4357), option 1 or userhelp@uwyo.edu.
