Canvas by Instructure is the University of Wyoming's Learning Management System (LMS)
- Mobile Application is available for both iOS and Android devices
- Offering excellent features for both students and faculty
- Only enrolled students and active faculty will be able to login successfully to utilize the Canvas App and WyoCourses.

Step 1: Navigate to App Store on Device
Step 2: Search for the application "Canvas" or "Canvas by Instructure"
- Ensure you are able to find the correct application, shown in photo below:
Step 2: Install Application, after ensuring the correct one is selected
Step 3: Navigate to the Canvas application once the install is complete and Select the "Find My School" button
Step 4: Search for "University of Wyoming", select the school once it appears, and then click "Next"
Step 5: UW Log-in Request will appear, ensure you are putting in your UW Username and Password into the respective section
- Once this is complete the Canvas application will connect to your WyoCourse account. Where you will be able to see the Dashboard, Calendar, To-do, Notification's, and Inbox
Android devices will sometimes encounter sign-in issues using the Canvas by Instructure App
- To troubleshoot this issue the WyoWeb Webpage may be added to the Homepage
- This shortcut will replace the Canvas Application and will allow access to WyoCourses
Step 1: Navigate to the "Google Chrome" application
Step 2: In the search bar, insert the URL: "wyoweb.uwyo.edu" and press "Go"
Step 3: Navigate to the upper right-hand corner of entire browser, next to the URL. There should be a vertical line of 3 dots, select this
Step 4: Dropdown Menu will appear. Select "Add to Home Screen", you may need to scroll down to find this option
Step 5: When prompted to add/edit name, ensure it is a name that will be easily recognize
Recommended Naming Conventions:
After providing the Shortcuts name, ensure to select "ADD"
Step 6: Now, when navigating back to the devices Homepage, there should be a new application shortcut
Step 7: When opening the Shortcut from the Homepage, it will be directed to the WyoWeb page. Here you will navigate to the "WyoCourse" option.
After selecting the "WyoCourse" option you will presented with a UW Log-in Screen. Enter your UW credentials and select "Logon"
