Introduction
Email headers are useful in scenarios where the detailed technical records of an email are needed. This can be useful information in the event that you believe you have received a phishing email. If you believe you have received a phishing email, the full header information can be added in an email to userhelp@uwyo.edu.
Users must open Outlook (Classic) from their start menu to see the appropriate menus and options.
Opening Outlook (Classic)
In order to see the correct menus, begin by closing out of your current outlook session, then launching Outlook (Classic) from the start menu.

**Be aware that simply toggling the radio button from New Outlook from the new version of outlook back to the old version will NOT provide you with the menu options below. |
Procedure
1. Follow the appropriate instructions below to first display the message headers.
- Outlook (Classic): Double-click the message to open it in a new window. Select the tab, and then click . The data is next to .



- New Outlook & Outlook Web App (OWA): Double-click the message to open it. Click the options icon (three dots near the top right), click and then click .



- Outlook for MacOS: In your Inbox (or other folder), right-click or
control-click the message, and then select .
- Thunderbird (Windows, MacOS): Click the options icon (three dots near the top right), select .


- Mail (MacOS): With the message selected, from the menu, select , and then select either or .

2. Copy and paste that information into the email message you wish to send.
