Find your Mac computer's name

Here are the steps to find the computer name for your Mac. While older versions of macOS used the Sharing pane within System Preferences, newer versions (macOS 13 Ventura and later) have moved this information to System Settings.

  1. Click the Apple menu in the top left corner and select System Settings.

  2. Click General in the left sidebar and then About.

  3. Your computer's name is located at the very top under the Name field.
