Collecting Network Configuration Information on Windows and macOS

Windows

1.) Click on the windows menu on your task bar to use windows search. Type cmd to search for the command prompt tool and open it. 

2.) Inside the command prompt tool type or copy the following command and press enter: 

ipconfig /all 

This will display your network configuration

3.) Search in Windows Search for the Snipping Tool

4.) Open the snipping tool and click new or press control + n to make a selection.

5.) Select all of the network configuration information by holding left click on your mouse and dragging across the desired area. 
Note: This output varies in length depending on your machine, so multiple screenshots may be necessary. 

6.) Save the image by clicking the save icon.

 

7.) You can now attach the saved image(s) in an email or reply to your ticket with the attached image(s). 

Mac OS

Method 1:

1.) Press the option key and click the wifi symbol in the upper right hand corner of your screen. This will display your Network Configuration information. 



2.) Press Command+Shift+4 to enter screen capture mode. Then click and drag the selection over the wifi information. This will save a screen shot to your desktop that you can send via email. 

 

Method 2:

1.) Open System Settings

 

2.) Select network, then your active connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and Click Details.

3.) Go to TCP/IP (for IP info)

4.) Go to Hardware (for MAC address)

5.) Copy the information by selecting the text and pasting it into a text file, email, or ticket.
