Find The Name Of Your Computer (Windows & Mac)

Overview

A device name (computer name or host name) is a label assigned to a device by it's operating system, or used to identify it on a shared network.  The name is used for other devices and users on the network to communicate with it when multiple devices are connected to the same network.


Detailed Instructions

Windows 11

  1. Click the Start button and open Settings.

  2. Select System and click on the About option.

  3. Locate your Full Device Name.

MacOS

  1. Click the Apple menu and select System Settings.

  2. Select More Info.

  3. Click General in the left pane and locate the Name section.
