Open CSV Files with Excel by Default

1. Begin the process of setting Excel as the default CSV program by clicking the Start button at the bottom-left corner of the window, then clicking on Settings.

2. Search for Apps and select Default app settings.

3. At the bottom of the screen, click Set defaults by app.

4. Select Excel from the Programs list and then click on "Choose defaults for this program."

 

5. Check the .csv extension and click Save. This will set Excel as default program for .csv files.

1. Begin the process of setting Excel as the default CSV program by clicking the Start button at the bottom-left corner of the window, then clicking Default Programs.

2. Click the "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" link at the center of the window.

3. Scroll through the list of file types until you locate the CSV option, then click it once to highlight it in blue. Click the Change program button at the top of the window. Click the Microsoft Excel option under Recommended Programs, then click the OK button.
