Install SAS 9.4M5 From The UW Network

Contact the IT Software Services at itsoftw@uwyo.edu or call 766-HELP (4357) option 1, to request access to SAS 9.4.

Approximately 10 gigabytes of hard drive space is needed.  This document applies to both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions. 

NOTE: Uninstall any previous version of SAS.

NOTE: Functional knowledge and use of this application is the responsibility of the user. This version of SAS is compatible with Windows 10.

Procedure

The example used in this HowTo will be for a 64 bit version of Windows 10.

  1. Click on Start, then Run, and enter \\uwapps.uwyo.edu\SAS9.4m5$\setup.exe for 64 bit Windows systems and click OK.
  2. In the Choose Setup Language screen, verify that English is selected, and click OK.
  3. In the Select Deployment Task screen, verify that Install SAS software is selected and click Next.

  1. Make sure Install SAS Foundation and Related Software is checked in the Select Deployment Type screen.

  1. In the Select Products to Install screen uncheck SAS Enterprise Guide. Click on Next

  1. In the Select SAS Foundation Mode screen, select the appropriate mode (64 bit is used in this example) and click on Next

  1. Click on Next in the Select SAS Foundation Products screen.

  1. Click on Next in the Specify SAS Installation Data File screen enter \\uwapps.uwyo.edu\itsoftware$\SAS\SAS_9.4\sid_files

Select either SAS94_9CQRV9_70088082_Win_X64_Wrkstn.txt for a 64 bit operating system or SAS94_9CQRV9_70007589_Win_Wrkstn.txt for a 32 bit operating system.

  1. Select Clear All in the Select Language Support screen (which leaves English selected). Click on Next.

  1. Click on Next after the Checking System process finishes.

  1. The actual installation begins at this point. Click on Start. Installation may take 30 minutes or more. Click on Next when done. Note: System requirements may vary from pc to pc.

  1. Click Finish on the Additional Resources screen.
