Office 365 (Outlook for Windows/MacOS) - Incorrect Authenticated Account

For best results and interaction with your UWyo Office 365 account, it is important that your Office application (Outlook, Word, etc) be authenticated with the same account that is configured within your Outlook profile. There are times when this is not the case and will cause access errors, email or calendar syncing issues, or issues syncing to other accounts that you have permissions to. 

 

Windows

  1. Start Word.
  2. Go to File tab.
  3. Select Account.
  4. On the 'User Information' screen, make sure the account that is logged in is your UW account.
  5. If the account is not your UW account, click the Sign out action until you only see the "Sign in" option.
  6. Then click Sign in action.

  1. Enter your UW email address (with the @uwyo.edu).

  1. Select Work or school account.

  1. Log in with your UW username and password.

  1. Close out of Word.
  2. Start Word and confirm the Account now shows your UW account.

 

Mac OS

  1. Quit out of all Office applications
  2. Start Word.
  3. On the start page, click on the account or click on Sign in located at the top left of the window.
  4. If the account is your UW account sign out and sign back in.

  1. Enter your UW email address (with the @uwyo.edu).

  1. Select Work or school account.

  1. Close out of Word.
  2. Start Word and confirm the Account now shows your UW account.​​​​​​​
