Windows 11 Intune Steps

Steps To Image and Retrieve Computer Hash for InTune Autopilot.

1.       PC is delivered to UW IT.

2.       Record necessary info from the PC and Document it.

3.       Unbox the PC and get it set up.

4.       Plug in the thumb drive with the Win11_PE image.

5.       Power on the Device, and press F9 repeatedly till you see the Boot Menu is opening.

6.       On the Boot Menu select UFEI-USB Disk, and press enter.

7.       At the Select System Operation page select the Intune Imaging radio button, and press enter.

8.       Select Yes on the Do you want to wipe this machine page.

9.       Select Yes at the Are you sure you want to proceed page.

10.   After the device is reimaged follow the steps below.

11.   At the Let’s get started with region page press Shit+F10 together. This will bring up a command prompt window.

12.   In the command prompt window type AP. This will start the get-autopilotinfo script.

13.   On the Select Intune AutoPilot Tag page. Select the Group tag that is needed for the device.

14.   Once all Hashes has been collected the CSV is located here: \\rattler.uwyo.edu\media$\Images\ASU-Image-Sys\INTUNE\Import

15.   Log on to Entra Privileged first and make sure you activate your Administrator privileges.

16.   Log on to Intune this should already pick up your Admin privileges. If not refresh.

17.   In InTune left column go to Devices and click on it.

18.   On the Devices page navigate to the Windows icon and click on it.

19.   On the windows page navigate to the Windows Enrollment page and click on it.

20.   On the Windows Enrollment page navigate to the Device icon and click on it.

21.   On the Windows Autopilot devices page click on the import icon and click on it.

22.   Select the file.

23.   The CSV needed will be in the:

\\rattler.uwyo.edu\media$\Images\ASU-Image-Sys\INTUNE\Import

24.   In the Import CSV Folder select the correct date:

25.   When the import is complete you will see.

26.   You can now locate the devices in the AutoPilot page.

27.   The PCs should already be in the proper group tag, but you can double check here.

28.   You’ll notice on Intune the PC is pending. This is because it is not provisioned.

30.   Power down the PC and wait 15 minutes. This will allow Entra to create the device account in the cloud environment.

31.   After 15 minutes, power on the pc.

32.   On the “Is this the right country or region?” page, select the United States and click yes.

33.   On the “Is this the right keyboard layout or input method?” press the Windows key 5 times. This will bring up the AutoPilot pre-provisioning page. Click on the highlighted radio button and click next.

34.   You will see the page that says “Pre-provision with Windows Autopilot” click next.

35.   The PC will say “Just a moment” It is connecting to Autopilot to start the provisioning process. This takes a few minutes.

36.   Once the pre-provision is in progress you’ll see this screen below. This takes a few minutes

37.   Once pre-provisioning is complete, you’ll see this screen. Click reseal, and the pc is ready to be boxed up and shipped out to the end user or finish Provisioning.

38.   To Provision the PC simply power on the device. Once the device is on you come to the sign in to work or school page. Sign in here with the Intune service account.

39.   Once the device has been assigned to a user we need to change the owner in Intune.

40.   Locate the device in Intune admin center. On the left column select Devices\Platform for example Windows. In the search bar enter the serial or name given by Intune of the device.

41.   Once you have located the device select Properties in the left column.

43.   On the Properties page select Change primary user.

44.   In the select primary user search bar type the user that got assigned to the device. For example, below click the user and click select.

45.   After the new user has been assigned to the device select save.

46.   After the new user has been assigned to the device reboot or just power off the device.

47.   Give it to the assigned user.
