Install ERDAS 2015 from the UW Network

Note:  Functional knowledge and use of this application is the responsibility of the user.

Introduction

The University of Wyoming provides the ERDAS 2015 Foundation and Imagine software package free of charge for installation on UW owned computers for academic teaching and research use only.  In order to install and run the software the computer must be connected to the UW Network. 

To install ERDAS 2015 from the UW network, request access through the IT Help Desk at userhelp@uwyo.edu or 766-4357, option 1. 

Note: Granting software access is a manual process that is done during normal business hours. Once eligibility has been confirmed you will receive an email informing you that access has been granted. 

Procedure

ERDAS 2015 is a two part install.  The first component is ERDAS Foundation, which needs to be installed prior to installing ERDAS Imagine. 

Installing ERDAS Foundation

1. Go to the Start button and in the search bar type:  \\uwapps\ERDAS-2015$\Foundation\setup.exe and press Enter.

   

   *If prompted by User Account Control click Yes*

2. At the Hexagon Geospatial Setup Manager click the + next to Supporting Software.Click ERDAS Foundation 2015 and click Install.

   

3. At the Open File – Security Warning window click Run.

   

4. At the ERDAS Foundation 2015 – InstallShield Wizard click Install.

   

5. At the ERDAS Foundation 2015 window click Next >.

   

6. Review the license agreement and if you agree, click I Accept and then click Next.

   

7. At the Custom Setup window click Next >.

   

8. At the Ready to Install window click Install.

   

9. At the Install Shield Wizard Complete window click Finish.

   

Install ERDAS Imagine 2015

1. Go to the Start Button and in the search bar type \\uwapps\ERDAS-2015$\Imagine\setup.exe and press Enter.

   

   *If prompted by User Account Control click Yes*

2. At the Hexagon Geospatial Setup Manager click the + next ERDAS IMAGINE 2015, click to highlight ERDAS IMAGINE 2015 (64-Bit) and click Install.

   

3. At the Open File – Security Warning window click Run.

   

4. At the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard window click Next >.

   

5. Review the Licnese Agreement and if you agree click I accept and Next>.

   

6. At the Custom Setup window click Next >.

   

7. At the Ready to Install window, click Install.

   

8. At the Install Shield Wizard Complete window click Finish.

   

9. At the ERDAS File Association Manager click the box next to File Associations, click Apply then click Close.

   

Select a License host for ERDAS 2015

1. Go to the Start Button and in the search type Intergraph License Administration and press Enter.

   

   *If prompted by User Account Control click Yes*

2. In the Intergraph License Administration window, select Client and then Add Concurrent Licnese Source…

   

3. For the Computer name type in:uwerdaslicense.uwyo.edu. For the port, type in:27006. Click OK

Close the Intergraph License Administrator window and you can now run ERDAS.
