The new UW VPN is faster and more reliable than ever before but it will take a moment to setup.
Before You Begin
Note to Fire Fox or Chrome Users:
Please use Safari to follow this guide. The initial installation is only supported under Safari.
Once Ivanti Secure is installed you can use whichever browser you prefer.

Ivanti Secure Quick Start
- Visit the WyoSecure page at https://wyosecure.uwyo.edu
- Login with your UW credentials and faculty and staff should use Two Factor Authentication
- Once at the WyoSecure dashboard click "Start" in the Ivanti Secure box
- OS X users might see an application warning for "the URL pulsesecure:// [...]". Click "Cancel".
Explanation: This indicates that Ivanti Secure has not been installed on this workstation. Once Ivanti Secure is installed URL's such as these will launch the application, but until then your Mac doesn't really know what to do with them.
- On the "Searching for the application launcher..." page, click "Download"
- Open the "PulseSecureAppLauncher.dmg"
- Launch the "PulseSecureAppLauncher.mpkg" found in the dmg file.
- The "Install Ivanti Secure Application Launcher" window will open, click "Continue"
- If prompted for an install location, select "Install for me only" and click "Continue"
Note: when downloading the installer via Safari this option is pre-selected.
- Click "Install" to begin.
- When the installation is finished the installer may ask you want to move "Ivanti Secure Application Launcher" to the trash, click "Move To Trash"
Note: when installing via Safari this option is pre-selected.
- Once completed click "Close"
- Back in Safari, you should see an instruction page with "Click HERE" to continue. Please click "HERE"
- Ivanti will launch and ask if you want to allow Ivanti Secure to contact the server, choose "Always"
- You will be prompted to enter your Mac username and password. Please note this is likely not the same as your UWyo username and password. Click "OK"
- If not automatically connected, click "Connect" to begin authenticating to WyoSecure
- Ivanti Secure will prompt you for your UWyo username and password. You may also want to check the "Save Settings" box.
- Congratulations, you're done!

Ivanti Secure Detailed Setup Instructions
Step 1
To begin, in your browser of choice visit WyoSecure and login with your University of Wyoming username and password. Please also remember to log into WyoSecure with your username, not your username@uwyo.edu at https://wyosecure.uwyo.edu.
Step 2
If you've already setup Two Factor Authentication with DUO, you'll see a familiar window. Please accept the push notification on your phone, enter the code from the Call Me option or the next unused code from your pass codes email.
Note: If you don't have your phone you can click "Cancel" and choose another option such as Passcode which will use your email to deliver your authentication codes. For more information about DUO see our Two Factor Authentication FAQ.
Step 3
Once you authenticated with Two Factor, you'll be taken to the University of Wyoming Secure Portal.
To begin the secure connection find the "Client Application Sessions" box and click the Ivanti Secure "Start" button.
Note: The screenshots of WyoSecure are of the default screen layout and may not exactly reflect what you're seeing.
Note: OS X Users will see an application warning the first time they launch the new VPN. This is to be expected. Please click "Cancel" if you get the following window

Step 4
Behind the warming you will find the "Searching for application launcher..." dialog.
Please click "Download" — if the 60 second search has already completed you will see a screen similar to the one in the second screenshot, again, please click "Download".
Step 5
While the installer downloads WyoSecure will present the following instructions.
Once the file is finished downloading double click as shown below, or, if you us a different browser than the one pictured (Chrome) find the file in your Downloads folder or wherever you may have saved it to, and double click "PulseSecureAppLauncher.dmg" to mount the virtual disk.
Alternatively, you may have to find the installer.
The default location for saved files on a Mac is your Downloads folder. If the file isn't there, try searching for it.
Step 6
Once opened PulseSecureAppLauncher.dmg will present a window containing the "PulseSecureAppLauncher.mpkg"
Double click the installer package to begin installation.
Step 7
The "Install Ivanti Secure Application Launcher Installer" window will open, click "Continue" to being the installation.
Step 8
Step 8 only applies to those who downloaded the installer with FireFox, Chrome or another 3rd party browser.
If you used Safari to download the installer step 8 is automatically setup and skipped.
If you see this screen, click "Install for me only" then click "Continue".
Step 9
On the "Installation Type" screen click "Install".
Step 10
If you downloaded the installer with a browser other than Safari, the installer will ask if you would like to move the "Ivanti Secure Application Launcher" Installer to the Trash? Click "Move To Trash".
Step 11
After some quick loading bars the Installation will complete and you can click "Close" to exit the installer.
Step 12
Ivanti Secure will likely launch immediately, if it doesn't, launch Ivanti Secure from your Applications folder.
Returning to your browser you can now continue connecting to the WyoSecure VPN.
Click "HERE" in the instructions page.
Note: You may be required to log in again, depending on how long the Ivanti Installation took.
If so, please enter your UW credentials and authenticate with Two Factor. Again, if you've not yet setup Two Factor Authentication, click here.
Step 13
Whether you've just installed Ivanti Secure or you're returning to WyoScure following a re-login or reboot the first time you launch Ivanti Secure you'll see this application launcher dialog in place of the error you might have seen earlier.
Click "Allow".
Step 14
Ivanti will launch and ask if you want to allow Ivanti Secure to contact the server, choose "Always".
Step 15
Ivanti Secure will now load the software to you computer. This can take a few minutes depending on the speed of your machine or Internet connection. You will be prompted to enter your Mac username and password. Enter your admin username and password and click "OK".
Step 16
The Ivanti Secure window will open once the installation is complete. WyoSecure may be listed already, if so click "Connect". If WyoSecure is not on your list the first time, click the + and you will be able to add WyoSecure.
Step 17
Ivanti Secure will prompt you for your UWyo username and password. You may also want to check the "Save Settings" box.
Step 18
After entering your UWyo username and password Ivanti Secure will prompt you for your Two Factor Authentication code.
Note: If you are using Push Notifications for Two Factor authentication type "Push" into the code field and your device will be sent a notification for you to respond to.
Note: It is not recommended that you check "Save Settings" unless you're sure you always want to use Push notifications. Please do not save your settings if you use codes or a dongle!
Use the "Secondary Password" field to tell Duo how you want to authenticate. Here's how:
Finished.
Congratulations. This should conclude setting up UW's Ivanti Secure VPN.
You should now see the Ivanti Secure window indicate that you're connected to WyoSecure with a green check mark.

Disconnecting from Ivanti Secure
To disconnect from WyoSecure click "Disconnect"
