Forwarding a Phone

Forwarding a phone varies by the set, please see below for set forwarding options and dialing instructions.

If you have a VoIP/Cisco phone, there should be a CFwdAll or Forward All button on the screen of their set (it may be under the “more” button, if you are unable to find the forward button, please let us know)

If you have a multiline Analog (Meridian) set, there should be a FORWARD button that can be pressed (if you are unsure or cannot find your forward button, please let us know). You will enter the number as instructed below, and end with hitting the FORWARD button again to finalize the forward.

If you have a single line Analog (Meridian, Aastra, Cortelco) set, please follow these instructions:

  • Lift the handset to get a dial tone
  • Enter *71
  • Dial the number you are forwarding to based on the dialing instructions below
  • To remove the forward, lift the handset to get a dial tone
  • Enter #71
  • You will hear a confirmation tone, you can now hang up and your line will no longer be forwarded

If the number the number you are forwarding to is on campus, you will enter the forward button option as mentioned by set above, followed by 6-XXXX

If the number you are forwarding to is off campus, and in Laramie, you will enter the forward button option as mentioned above by set, followed by 9-XXX-XXXX

If the number you are forwarding to is off campus, and outside of Laramie (long-distance number), you will enter the forward button option as mentioned above by set, followed by 9-1-XXX-XXX-XXXX (this includes any 307 number that is outside of Laramie)

***If you unable to forward to a number outside of Laramie/long-distance number, you may not have long distance capabilities. Please contact us to get this changed, where approval will be needed from a Billing Coordinator***

***Any calls that are forwarded to an off campus, long-distance number, will accrue long distance changes against the office (766#) number.
