Installing the ImageNow Client - For scanning stations or users Printing to ImageNow

This article goes over how to install the imageNow client and configure it correctly. 

***Please note that unless you are scanning using a scanstation, printing to ImageNow, or linking documents, you do not need to install the ImageNow/Perceptive client.  You can use the web client available at https://uwimaging.uwyo.edu/experience ***

!!!  You will need an account with administrative rights on your computer.  If you have an IT managed desktop, contact IT Help Desk 766-4957 for assistance with administrative access to the machine.  Additionally, if the computer is outside the first floor of Knight Hall, ACL access will need to be requested for the machine to access ImageNow.

  1. Download the ImageNow Installer from \\uwapps.uwyo.edu\imageNow$\ImageNowClient\ The user with ImageNow access must be signed in to have access to this folder.   If you are in Department Support, your username-da account should grant you access to this folder.  
  2. Right click on the installer and select “Run as Administrator”. 

  1. Where prompted throughout the install process, click Yes when asked to allow the computer to complete the installation and authenticate using credentials with administrative rights to the computer. 
  2. Select English for the installation language then hit OK.  Wait while the installation files are extracted and verified.  This may take a few minutes. 

 

  1. On the Welcome screen, click Next.   
  2. On the License Agreement screen, scroll down to the bottom, click “I accept the terms in this license agreement”, then click Next.  You will not be able to click Next until you scroll through to the bottom of the agreement text
    .
  1. On the Custom Setup screen, make sure to click the X next to the ImageNow printer, then select “This feature and all subfeatures will be installed on local hard drive.”   Do the same for the Business Insight Integration.  The final look of the setup should be:
    1. Perceptive Content Client Files – Selected
      1. Language Packs – Unselected
      2. Java Support for Learnmode - Selected
        1. Enable java support for Learnmode - Selected
    2. Administrative Tools – Unselected
    3. Support for viewing non-graphic data – Selected
    4. ImageNow Printer – Selected
    5. Business Insight Integration – Selected
       

 

  1. Once all the features are selected properly, hit Next.
  2. A Default connection profile window should come up. Enter the following in the text boxes: 
    1. Profile Name:  Production
    2. Server Name: imnowapp-prod.uwyo.edu
    3. Port Number: 6000

 

  1.  A deployment server window should come up. You may leave this blank and hit Next.
  2.  A shortcut window will come up. Leave this as it shows up in the defaults with Start Menu, Desktop, and Quick Launch Toolbar boxes checked then click Next. 

 

  1.  Click the Install button to begin the actual installation.  This may take a few minutes.
      

 

  1.  Once the Installation Wizard Completed screen, click Finish.
