How to attach a SharePoint calendar to Outlook windows application

NOTE: 

Please be aware that this process will only apply to calendars hosted on classic Sharepoint Sites.  The difference between classic and modern sites is shown below:  Comparison of SharePoint's Classic view (left) and Modern view (right) showing document management interfaces with distinct layouts and features.

 

Instructions for importing a calendar from a Classic Sharepoint Site

 

1. Open Classic Outlook (not to be confused with the standard Outlook Client) by searching for Outlook classic in your start menu and selecting the classic version as shown in the screenshot below:

2.Open a web browser and sign into the SharePoint Site.

3.Navigate and display the calendar.

4.Click the Calendar tab at the top of the page to display the action ribbon.

5. On the ribbon, select the option to, Connect to Outlook. A Launch Application dialog box will show, you may have to click Allow or "Navigate Away from this page", depending on the browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Chrome) you are using. Select Microsoft Outlook, click OK. A message on Outlook displays, "Connect this SharePoint Calendar to Outlook?"

6. Click, Yes.
