Setting up Ivanti Secure on Android Devices

Before you begin, confirm:

  1. You have a valid UWyo account and can log into UW digital resources with your UWyo username and password
  2. Your UWyo account has enrolled in Two Factor Authentication with at least one personal device.

If not, these instructions will not work for you.  Please obtain a UWyo account and enroll your account in two-factor authentication before continuing.

UW IT also strongly recommends removing outdated Pulse Secure clients:

For reference, the older Pulse Secure icon and most recent Ivanti Secure App icon are displayed below:

Icons for Ivanti Client (correct) and Pulse Secure Client (outdated/incorrect).
Icon of a white hand holding a key on an orange gradient background. - Yes  yes A graphic displaying the older pulse secure icon on an android device with a green and black "S" surrounded by white background. - NO! no

Since having outdated versions of our VPN client (Pulse Secure) may cause issues we recommend you remove them if currently installed on your Android device.  For more detailed instructions please see this guide from Google Android: Delete apps on your Android device - Android Help

If you're still having trouble:
Android has many different versions produced by many different manufacturers your screen may not exactly reflect the screenshots below. The steps should be similar.

If for any reason these instructions aren't working, if you have questions or concerns or if you would like additional support please contact the UWIT Help Desk at 307-766-4357, option 1, or emailing userhlep@uwyo.edu.
