Install ArcGIS Pro version 3.5 from the UW Network

Note: Access to ArcGIS Pro and the files saved there will be removed if you are no longer at UW.

Introduction

The University of Wyoming provides the ArcGIS Pro software package free of charge for faculty, staff, and students. In order to install the software the computer must be connected to the UW Network during installation. To install ArcGIS Pro from the UW network and obtain an ArcGIS Pro account, please submit the software request form.

Note: Once eligibility has been confirmed, you will receive an email providing details on finalizing the setup of your ArcGIS Online account and that your access to the software share has been granted.

If you would like an ArcGIS Online account, create one with these instructions.

You may find that you need to upgrade your .net installation for this software.  You can download that from Microsoft.

 

Procedure to Install ArcGIS Pro

  1. Go to the Start button and in the search bar type: \\uwapps\ArcGISPro-3.5$

  1. Run the installer ArcGISPro.msi Windows Installer file and when the wizard opens click Next.

  1. On the Welcome screen, click Next.

  1. Review the License Agreement and then click on the I Accept the master agreement radio button and then click Next

  1. On the Select Features screen, click Next.

  1. Select if you want to participate in the Esri User Experience program select the radio box and then click Install to begin the install process.

  1. The install will process and make take a while to complete. If presented with a User Account Control request, click Yes. When done you will receive a notice that the install was completed successfully, click Finish.

  1. When you launch ArcGIS Pro for the first time you will be presented with a Sign In prompt. Click the down arrow next to Your ArcGIS organization's URL.

  1. Type uwyo into the URL field and click Continue.

  1. Click the UWYO button.

  1. Sign in with your UW credentials.

  1. Click on Settings on the left side of the screen.

  1. Click on Licensing in the menu.

  1. At the bottom of the screen click on Configure your licensing options.

  1. This screen will then appear.  Under the License Type drop down menu select the Named User License option. Click OK.  This may already be set to Named User, but it needs to be changed if it is set to anything else.

  1. The prompt below may appear and if it does you will need to click OK.

  1. The software is now ready to use.  Upon relaunching ArcGIS Pro it should appear like this.
