Sign into PulseSecure Client Using Two-Factor Authentication (for Mac)

Introduction

Pulse Secure is required for downloading software from the UW network or connecting to a UW storage location. It requires the installation of a client onto the user's computer which allows the user's remote computer to connect directly to and use resources on the UW network. Because this connection allows access to the UW network, it is important to make sure the remote computer does not have viruses that could be spread to the UW network. Remote computers connecting with Pulse Secure are automatically checked for an active firewall, up-to-date patches and antivirus software.

For additional information on using two-factor authentication, please see the Duo Security Guide.

Procedure

You can also add a number to the end of these factor names if you have more than one device registered. For example, Push2 will send a login request to your second phone, phone3 will call your third phone, etc.

  1. Launch the Pulse Secure client from your Program list or Applications folder.

  2. Select Connect for the WyoSecure connection.

  3. Next enter your UW credentials
  4. Then you'll see a “Secondary Password” field when using the Juniper Pulse or Pulse Connect client.

  5. Use the "Secondary Password" field to tell Duo how you want to authenticate. Here's how:
