Introduction
The University of Wyoming provides Respondus 4.0 to Faculty and Staff free of charge for installation on UW owned computers for academic purposes. To install Respondus 4.0 from the UW network, request access through the IT Software Request Form.
Note: Granting software access is a manual process that is done during normal business hours. Once access has been granted an email will be sent to your UW email account with instructions.
Note: Respondus can only be installed on a Windows Operating System. If you are a Mac user please contact the IT Help Desk (at 766-4357) to discuss your installation options.
Procedure
- Go to Start and in the search bar type: \\uwapps\respondus-v4$\respondus4campus.exe
- Follow the prompts as presented and select the options you wish to use. The following windows will appear:
- Choose Setup Language
- Welcome Window
- License Agreement
- Choose Destination Location
- Projects Folder Location
- Ready to Install the Program
- Once the installation is complete a window will pop up asking if you want to install the Equation Editor. If you plan to use equations click Yes and follow the prompts selecting the options you wish to use.
- Upon completion of the equation editor installation you will receive notice that the installation is complete. Click Finish.
- Now launch Respondus from the Desktop icon or from the Start � All programs menu.
- The first time you launch the program you will prompted to provide our Campus-wide License information. Use the below information and then click License:
Institution Name: University of Wyoming
Local Support Contacts: wyocourses@uwyo.edu
Installation Password: Refer to the InstallPassword.txt file at \\uwapps\respondus-v4$

- You will be prompted to sign up for a newsletter. You can agree or close the window.
- You will be prompted to choose a CMS personality. Select Instructure Canvas and click OK.
- Respondus will now launch and you can begin using the program.
