New Voicemail System Implemented at the University of Wyoming

We are pleased to announce a new Voicemail System has been implemented at the University of Wyoming. This new system has replaced our old voicemail system and continue to provide similar integration with Office 365. You will continue to receive voicemail messages in your Outlook inbox once the instructions below have been completed. Any actions you take on messages via phone, Outlook, or your mobile email client will be synchronized.

                                                                              

The new voicemail system went into effect on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018.

If you are setting up your voicemail for the first time, please contact Teldesk by email at teldesk@uwyo.edu to receive your initial setup instructions.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

 

 How do I change my greeting after I have completed the setup?

Please reference the Voicemail Quick Reference guide on the right side of the page under Files. If you have any questions, please contact the Teldesk at 766-4357, option 2 or email teldesk@uwyo.edu

How much time do I have to setup my new mailbox?

Your voicemail box will continue to receive voicemails, however to ensure a secure voicemail box, we recommend you complete the initial setup. To complete the initial setup, please email teldesk@uwyo.edu for the instructions.

What are the security code requirements?

Your security code must be a minimum of 6 digits. The digits may not form a simple arithmetic sequence (123456, etc.). The security code cannot be set to your phone number. You should avoid using simple patterns or easily guessed numbers such as a birthday.

When I call 6-1011 or 6-1013, all I get is the operator. What should I do?

If you are calling into the voicemail system and get a recording for the University of Wyoming or reach the operator, please email teldesk@uwyo.edu with your phone number, username and ask for your voicemail to be verified.

I locked myself out of the voicemail system, what should I do?

If you have been locked out of your voicemail account, please email teldesk@uwyo.edu with your username, phone number and ask for your voicemail account to be unlocked.

How do I reset my pin after the initial voicemail setup?

If you have completed your initial setup and have forgotten the pin you entered, please email teldesk@uwyo.edu with your username, phone number and ask for your voicemail pin to be reset.

How do I sign on with my new security code? I completed mailbox setup but I cannot log on with my new security code when I press the voicemail button on my phone.

The voicemail button on your phone will take you to the new voicemail system, or you can log into 6-1011 or 6-1013.

I am a new employee with a new voicemail box, do I still need to do the initial setup?

Yes. All new voicemail activations will need to complete the new voicemail system setup. To complete the initial setup, please email teldesk@uwyo.edu for the instructions.

What will happen to my messages on the old system?

Your old messages will only be accessible in your Outlook mailbox and no longer accessible via phone effective November 6st, 2018.

What changes can I expect?

The new system will use a new telephone user interface for accessing messages and voice mailbox features over the telephone. You will be able to send and retrieve messages over the telephone similar to that with the previous system however, the touch tone commands will be different. When did the new Voicemail system go live?

The new system was implemented on the evening of November 6th, 2018, with the new system changes taken into effect the morning of November 7th, 2018.
