Starting with FY25, this report can be used to query external funding received at UW. The OSP team is working to update prior fiscal years to work with this report.
This report is for internal use only. If you need to report data off campus, please work with the OSP Costing and Reporting team.
Step One
- Navigate to WyoCloud and click on the Reporting Table of Contents tile under My Profile.

- You may use the following prompts to narrow the report to only display projects relevant to your needs. It is recommended to prompt by College or Department. Note, in most cases you can leave a prompt blank or leave the default in any or all prompts.
- College (Subdivision)
- Department (Organization)
- Date From
- Date To
- The report will automatically open to the "Summary" tab, users are able to navigate between Details and Summary as desired.
- After selecting desired prompts, click Apply.

Column Name |
Column Definition |
College (Subdivision) |
The subdivision name the project(s) is assigned to that will provide a listing of all organizations and departments within that subdivision and their projects. |
Department (Organization) |
Name of the Department (Project owning Organization). |
Count |
The number of funding transactions within the respective College and Department of that row. |
Total Fund Amount |
Sum of the external award(s) funding receiving during the queried time. |

College (Subdivision) |
The subdivision name the project(s) is assigned to that will provide a listing of all organizations and departments within that subdivision and their projects. |
Department (Organization) |
Name of the Department (Project owning Organization). |
Principal Investigator (PI) |
The principal investigator (PI) is responsible for overseeing the technical direction and academic quality of research projects. They ensure that the projects comply with sponsor and institutional policies. The PI also holds ultimate responsibility for managing the sponsored research award, particularly when the funding comes from federal agencies like the NIH. |
Issue Description |
Original Award: Initial funding received at UW.
New Funding: Either a modification or amendment that reflects additional funding received from the external sponsor.

Award Number (the project rolls up to a parent award number in the system). |
Award Fund Amount |
Sum of the external awards(s) funding received during the queried time. |
