Clearing Java Cache - Mac OS X

These are instructions on how to clear the Java cache on your computer.

Note: It may ask you to put in an admin password. If your computer was imaged by the University, call the IT help desk to give you admin privileges up to 90 minutes or have them put an admin password in for you.

Procedure

  1. Click the Apple  menu and select System Preferences.

  2. Click the Java icon.

  4. The Java Control Panel will display on the General tab, click Settings in the Temporary Internet Files section.

  5. In the Temporary Files Settings window.
    Click the Delete Files button.

  6. Click all the check boxes listed and then click OK.

  7. Click OK in the Temporary Files Settings window to close the window. 
  8. Close the System Preferences window.

Finally, you may find it beneficial to close the web browser window that contains the Java content and then reopen it. This will load a new copy of the content.
