Upgrading Pulse Secure Client

This article will be used to upgrade older Windows Pulse Secure Clients (9.x clients prior to To check your version, open up Pulse Secure, go to "Help" on the Pulse Secure file menu and choose "About."

1. Navigate to http://wyosecure.uwyo.edu in your preferred internet browser.

2. You should be greeted with a prompt to install upgrade help, to install, please hit the "Download" button. 

3. A file should begin downloading, please run this file once it has finished downloading (it will be called "PulseUpgradeHelperInstaller").

4. A new prompt will display on your screen "Pulse ActiveX control is about to be upgraded.", please hit "OK" on this prompt.



5. The prompt should disappear, after 10-30 seconds, another prompt should appear indicating "Pulse Upgrade Helper Completed", please hit "OK" on this prompt. 

6. Your Pulse Secure should also open after this latest prompt, please ignore it for now and return to your internet browser window.

7. Earlier, after downloading the Pulse Upgrade Helper the message displayed on the page should have changed. Please hit the blue "HERE" on the page.

8. This should bring you to a login portal, please enter your UWyo credentials to proceed.

9. Authenticate your login with your preferred two-factor-authentication method.

10.  After authenticating, you should be brought to a new page, at the bottom of the list on the left, there should be a "Pulse Secure" option, please press the "Start" on this option.

11. The latest version of Pulse Secure should begin installing, after the installation finishes Pulse Secure should automatically begin connecting.

12. Check to learn if the upgrade was successful by going to "Help" on the Pulse Secure file menu and choosing "About." Your version should be or higher.
